with great power…

…comes great responsibility. That’s always been the maxim of the two superheroes who are arguably the most important, iconic characters in the history of American comic books: Superman and Spider-man. Since Spidey is younger, Uncle Ben had to explicitly spell the principle out for him, whereas Supes just sprt of imbibed it from the example and upbringing of his adoptive parents. But that is the tie that binds these icons and why they resonate so strongly with the American psyche.

So I find myself extremely pleased indeed at my Superhero Personality Test results…

Seems I am equal parts both Spidey and Supes 🙂 (the algorithm insisted I was more Spidey than supes, but the percentages are equal). Interestingly, I am least like Batman, which is unsurprising but also a bit funny given that I think Batman is the single coolest superhero ever created, barely edging out Wolverine.

Combining the descriptive text for both heroes, we get this summary of my personality:

You are intelligent, witty, a bit geeky and have great power and responsibility. You are mild-mannered, good, strong and you love to help others.

well, great power I don’t know about, but the rest sounds right to me 🙂 I think I am more geeky than Spidey though – I mean, where’s his anime/sci-fi blog? By that standard, even Darth Vader’s more geeky than Spider-man.

  1. Cool test. I was 60% for Spider-Man, the Green Lantern, and the Hulk, which is kind of funny given I’m a tad on the skinny side. 😀 I was the least like Wonderwoman and Superman. I had a friend in grade school who wished he was Wonderwoman.
