actually you're right, Steven - my wife did her first year of residency (internal medicine) last year in Galveston at UTMB. Then we had a one year interlude, which ends now. Just enough time for a baby :) Now we are headed to WI for her residency years 2-4, in dermatology. I'll keep busy during year 1 taking care of the baby and working on some manuscripts in collaboration with my present employer, a continuation of my postdoc work. That will also give me time to find something more substantial for years 2 and 3.

My parents are in Chicago, which is nearby but not as close as my inlaws were to us in Houston. So we will be more isolated, but not completely alone. As you might imagine, my inlaws are depressed... and my parents are ecstatic :)

Wisconsin is away from one set of grandparents. Is it closer to the other than Houston?

(Somehow I had gotten the impression that Houston was your wife's residency. I must be out of phase.)

Welcome back! I figured you hit some kind of limit with your host, and I'm not surprised that it was a CPU limit.

I look forward to more posts!
